Kershaw Zing Knife

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

One of the knives I have recently added to my site is the Kershaw Zing.

Designed by custom knifemaker RJ Martin the Zing features a 3.0 inch Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel blade and an injection-molded polyimide handle.

Their are four different models in the Zing line all of which are made here in the USA.

Model 1735 has a black handle, while model 1735OR has an orange handle. Both of these versions feature grooved striations 3-D machined into the blades. Their is also a tanto pointed version in both a plain (model 1735T) and partially-serrated (model 1735TST) blade.  The tanto versions don’t have the grooves in the blade.

All knives are of liner lock design and come with a reversible pocket clip that allows for either tip-up or tip-down carry.

The Zing also comes with a blade flipper that makes it super easy to quickly open the blade.

I should point out that this knife does NOT come with Kershaw’s Outburst Assist system.

Kershaw Scamp Knife — Plain Edge

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The Scamp is another new offering from Kershaw.

The 3.38″ blade is made from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel that has been given a titanium carbonitride finish to help protect the blade.

This knife is of frame lock design and has a single G-10 handle scale.  The other side of the handle is steel and incorporates the frame lock.

For ease of carry it comes with a pocket clip like most folders these days.

This folder is made in China in order to get a lower price point.

I currently have the plain-edged version available:

Kershaw Blitz Knife

Monday, January 25th, 2010

The Kershaw Blitz is one of the new offerings from Kershaw.

The Blitz comes in both plain and partially-serrated versions and features a 3.13″  8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade.  The handle scales are G-10 which provide good grip and wear resistance.  Gripability is further enhanced by the addition of some well placed ridges on the G-10 scales.

Rather than a thumb stud, the Blitz folders feature a thumb disk that makes it super easy to open the knife.  The knife is of liner lock design so it is just as easy to close as it is to open.  For ease of carry a pocket clip is provided.

I should also point out that the country of manufacture is China and not the U.S.
